A home with a small child and a garden area that was not compatible- on an incline with to much concrete,
cactus and poisonous plants. A patio which was narrow, dark and cluttered.
Leveled the area, removing the pathway and step-up.Created a "built- in" sand pit with flower beds down
one side-leaving room for a good size grass area.Used slab for stepping stone to tie in with the new patio.
Before
After- Removed the wooden awning and concrete surface- extended the patio and replaced with slab-to level
the garden area we built a retaining wall which doulbes up as extra sitting.Flower beds boarder the new
grass area
Before. The living room looked out on to this.....my concept was to create privacy with out blocking
natural light
After
On the street side of the fence I planted Mexican Palo Verde trees. The trunks do not get large and the
foliage is sparse and airy so will allow light to still filtre through
Wasted space......A hill with steps leading to no-where and an amazing view from the top!
I incorporated the few existing steps and created two landing posts.Perfect for entertaining, star gazing
or just enjoying the view
After
Before. I installed an arbor to support the rambling rose and to create an "entrance "to the garden and
vegetable patch.
After. Follow the path and meander up to enjoy the view
